Early Life And Career

Virat Kohli was born in 1988 in Delhi, India. He started his cricket journey by being admitted to West Delhi Cricket Academy. Kohli took coaching for many years under several coaches, and finally, he played his first-ever professional cricket tournament in 2002 in the Delhi Under-15 team. After that, he played many games at a very young age, and he performed well in all the matches to get into first-class cricket.

He made his first-class debut when he was 18 against Tamil Nadu. Unfortunately, he faced one of the saddest moments of his life when his dad died while he was playing one of the first-class matches. IPL Debut

After showing great performance in U-19 tournaments, he was soon picked up by the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore for $30 000 on a youth contract. He also captained RCB for eight years, but RCB couldn’t win any trophy. The first two seasons of IPL were not that good for Virat Kohli, but then in the third season, he showed his potential by finishing the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament. Thus since then, he kept on increasing his skill and performed well in following IPL and is one of the most successful batsmen players in the IPL.

In 2016 he made all-time high 973 runs in a single IPL season, a record for any batsman. So far, he is the only batsman to cross the 6000 total runs in IPL history. He has played 207 IPL matches and has scored over 6200 runs with an average of 37.49, including five centuries and 42 half-centuries. As you know, despite his performance RCB team was unable to win a trophy even once, so following the IPL 2022, he decided to step down as captain of RCB.
