Ravichandran Ashwin – The Fastest Bowler Of India

Ravichandran Ashwin is an Indian cricketer who has been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2011. He is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. In One Day Internationals, Ashwin was one of India’s best spinners in the team’s 2010–11 tour of Australia. During that tour, he achieved his best bowling figures, taking eight wickets in three Tests.

In 2012, Ashwin played in the Indian Premier League for the Chennai Super Kings and scored his first century in the tournament, scoring 124 from just 77 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ashwin was born on 8 October 1991 in Bangalore, Karnataka.

He studied at Don Bosco College of Engineering at Puttur Hills and passed out with a Bachelor of Engineering degree majoring in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Annamalai University.

Ravichandran Ashwin is also a right-arm medium bowler. Ashwin started playing cricket as a student at his college, during which he played alongside Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar who later became a fast bowler himself.

His father, Srinivasan Ashwin, was a club cricketer who played for the local cricket team, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). He can play all formats of the game. He is a leg-spin bowler and is also known as an orthodox spinner. In addition, he is an excellent fielder on his team.

Beginning Of His Cricket Career

Ashwin started his cricket career playing for the Karnataka State Cricket Association Under-14 team. He played for them till the Under-19 level. After that, he played for the team in Vijay Hazare Trophy. In January 2009, Ashwin was picked for India Under-19 squad to play against England Under-19s.

Batting first, India scored 341, with Ashwin scoring 50 from 45 balls and taking 1/22 from his ten overs (1/22). In reply, England got 310 in 48 overs, with Ashwin taking 3/67 (3/67). Ashwin debuted for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL against Chennai Super Kings at M. A.

In his second game, he scored a fifty, making 52 against the Mumbai Indians. In his next match, against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Ashwin took two wickets and scored 22 runs. The Royal Challengers won both games.

Ashwin was selected for the Test side to play against Australia after a string of good performances in domestic cricket. He was called up as the replacement for Praveen Kumar, who was out of form. In the IPL 2022 he is going to be in the team of Rajasthan Royals.

Ashwin played in his first Test on 22 December 2011 at Mohali. He made only two runs and took one wicket in the match, which India lost by 168 runs. In January 2012, Ashwin was named in the 14-member Indian squad to play against England, who toured India in the same month. He played in his second Test on 15 February at Pune, taking 4/129 and helping India to their highest ever score of 577 for seven declared.

He became the only third bowler to have taken a hat-trick in a single inning (after Dennis Lillee and Michael Holding), equalling the record for most wickets for a bowler in a Test match. He is also the only player in Test cricket to have taken a hat-trick and four wickets in an innings in a single match. As a result, Ashwin was rested from the Indian team for the December 2012 tour of Australia.

In the first one-day international of his comeback, Ashwin took 3/22 against Australia. He then played his first bilateral series against England at home, taking 4/38 (5/85) and 3/49 (4/50) in the second test loss and 2/74 (3/100) and 0/33 as India lost by 123 runs. In his third match, he scored 25* (29 balls), setting up India’s chase of 200 before another defeat at Mumbai.

In June 2010, Ashwin tied the knot with his long-term partner Vaishali Ashwin, a Chartered Accountant. In January 2015, Ashwin was one of four cricketers included in the Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad for the 2015 Indian Premier League.

He played in their first match of the tournament against Royal Challengers Bangalore, taking the wicket of Kieron Pollard to dismiss him for 46. This was his maiden wicket in the competition.

The following week, he was rewarded with the player of the match award in their match against Delhi Daredevils. Ashwin was the joint-highest wicket-taker for India in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He finished with eight wickets for 112 runs in 7 matches.

India ultimately ended up winning the tournament, earning them a place in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Ashwin was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders to play in the Indian Premier League in the 2018 season and signed a three-year contract worth 1.5 crores with KKR.
