Jaspreet Bumrah and IPL

This cricketer has surpassed every other one with his unorthodox action. The Indian bowler has become the No. 1 player across all the formats, breaking all myths and stereotypes.

It has been seamless for him to move from white ball to red ball, and he has now taken five wickets in England, South Africa, and Australia. Increasingly popular, he has been promoted to vice-captain of the Indian Test team.

Having taken his first wicket of Virat Kohli in the IPL, Bumrah has had a huge IPL season. The Sri Lankan star initially helped him and he has now gained confidence and strength due to his bowling alongside Malinga.

I am a huge fan of this pace speedster who’s always looking to improve in all 3 forms of the game. Taking on him has never been easy, and it won’t be any easier this time as well, as he is achieving high confidence after a spirited 5-wicket club on the Bengaluru track, which aided the spinners.

Jaspreet Bumrah’s career in the Indian Premier League

One of the numerous benefits that the IPL provides is a feeder system for young talent. It gives a platform for lesser-known players to perform and be noticed on a national scale. The ultimate example is Jasprit Bumrah, who is perhaps the IPL’s most valuable gift for Indian cricket.

Bumrah made a name for himself by being unique. A quick run-up is followed by a rapid bowling movement with his arms as stiff as bones when everything seems to be going wrong until it doesn’t.

In the midst of the chaos of the IPL, his dependability began to shine out. Bumrah excelled under the tutelage of a death-bowling guru like Lasith Malinga. He made his debut in the 2013 edition of the league, getting little game experience, but rapidly rose to become a fixture in the MI starting eleven in subsequent seasons, stunning batters with the pace he created from his wrist.

By 2017, he established himself as the club’s go-to bowler, possibly above Malinga, as proven by his selection for Super Over even against Gujarat Lions, where he proved the choice by protecting Twelve runs against McCullum & Aaron Finch.

That year, Bumrah bowled MI into the final by bowling a match-winning performance of 3/7 in 3 overs there in the second Qualifier vs KKR and then played an important role in Mumbai claiming the championship when it looked like Pune would coast to victory.

Bumrah was among 3 players signed by MI for IPL 2018 season, which made perfect sense. And he rewarded the confidence by ending the season also as the team’s leading wicket-taker, with just an average of under 7.
